Accounting to Reporting

ELFS combines best practice shared services solution design with its knowledge of the complexities in the NHS.

We always aim to deliver a suite of services tailored to the clients need. Client service requirements can be individually selected from the ELFS services menu. A summary of the key services included in the Service Level Agreements and how to access the Framework are listed below.

The ELFS Technical Accounting and Reporting section takes responsibility for ensuring all balance sheet reporting. We ensure compliance with monthly and annual accounting timetables.


Key elements of the service include –

  • Balance sheet control account reconciliations
  • Accruals reporting and analysis
  • Production and supporting working papers to support the Statutory Accounts – Working closely with clients we produce the information to feed the statutory accounts (TRY/FTC forms)
  • Financial reporting and analysis – Month end creditors spreadsheets provided to clients with the input of accruals where required. BPPC figures are delivered via the ELFS dashboards system (Intuitive)
  • Recharges to NHS and Non-NHS organisations
  • Liaise with internal and external auditors, providing information as requested
  • Agreement of Income to Department of Health timetable – Preparation of statements and co-ordination of agreements between counterparties
  • Pay over and reconcile statutory and voluntary salary deductions – PAYE, NI, NHS Pension, NEST, Union Fees, Court Order etc)
  • NHS pension Assurance Statement (for ELFS payroll clients)
  • Control account reconciliations delivered via Trintech – a Web based auto reconciliation tool for control accounts which allows clients full visibility to reconciliations and backing documentation
  • Bank Reconciliations – produced on a daily basis including posting of debtor income ensuring an up to date debt position
